🔬 NIOSH Research & Development (R&D)
Research and Development (R&D) constitutes one of the core functions of NIOSH. To effectively manage and coordinate all R&D activities, a Research Management Centre (RMC) has been established within the Institute.
RMC serves as the driving force behind NIOSH’s research excellence through the following responsibilities:
- Promote multidisciplinary OSH research aligned with NIOSH priorities.
- Facilitate high-impact collaborative research.
- Monitor and coordinate research projects and collaboration strategically.
- Disseminate research outcomes to stakeholders.

💡 NIOSH Outcome-Based Research Grant
The NIOSH Outcome-Based Research Grant supports innovative studies that deliver measurable outcomes and practical benefits for the OSH community. Applications are open twice a year, subject to availability and competitive selection.
🧭 Research Criteria
To be considered, proposed projects must:
✅ Directly support NIOSH’s functions and industry engagement.
✅ Utilize NIOSH laboratories and equipment (More info).
✅ Demonstrate commercial potential and value-added impact for industry
